Having known and worked with Beth over an extended period I can confidently assert that she brings two clear dimensions. Firstly, a strong, global knowledge base in relation to student wellbeing. This is underpinned by robust evidence and practicality. Secondly, Beth has and models superb humanity and interpersonal skills. This means that she can lean into difficult contexts in a way that brings out the best in people and allows others to shine. In my view, a winning combination.

We are pleased to write a testimonial for Beth, who has made a remarkable impact on Cognita Spain and Italy with her exceptional leadership and expertise in school community wellbeing. Beth's contributions to the team over the past four years have been invaluable, and her level of knowledge, enthusiasm, and personalized approach to supporting schools as a group and individuals is commendable. Beth's strength lies in her ability to build a meaningful team of teachers with a range of leadership roles in wellbeing, highlighting her skill in supporting distributive leadership systems in Cognita Spain and Italian schools. This approach has resulted in a positive and impactful wellbeing legacy that Beth leaves behind, especially given the challenging COVID demands that schools faced during this time. Beth led several initiatives during her time with Cognita Spain and Italy, including the successful establishment of Global Be Well Day (GBWD), which brought schools together to celebrate elements of wellbeing. Additionally, she spearheaded the creation and implementation of a Wellbeing Maturity Scale (WMS), a tool that supports schools in self-assessing their wellbeing, including leadership, curriculum, and parent engagement. This tool will undoubtedly continue to benefit schools beyond Beth's time with Cognita. Lastly, Beth led the establishment of Student Ambassadors across the schools, which further amplified student voice throughout wellbeing initiatives across a variety of age groups. The overwhelming positive feedback from the community on Beth's support is a testament to her expertise and leadership in school community wellbeing. In conclusion, Beth is an outstanding, experienced leader who has made a significant contribution to Cognita's wellbeing efforts in Spain and Italy. We have no doubt that Beth will continue to make a positive impact on schools and communities in her future endeavours.

There is a lot talked about wellbeing (and we all recognise it is very important) but often not much understanding of what it really means. Beth is a rare person who actually has a great deal of expertise about wellbeing and is able to offer practical advice for schools that wish to develop a coherent approach. Her wellbeing model, with the six main pillars of positive mental health, helped us understand wellbeing and therefore what can be done to improve it. She produced some fantastic resources and ways of measuring success (a survey and a maturity scale) for us to use. She is also very personable and easy to work with. I cannot recommend her highly enough for schools looking to take the issue of wellbeing seriously.
